RTI (Response to Intervention)

Response to Intervention (sometimes called Response to Instruction) is a tiered approach that starts with good instruction for all; (Tier 1) then provides additional support(s) for those who need it, (Tier 2). If a student is still experiencing difficultly after Tier 1 and 2, additional intensive interventions occur, (Tier 3). The model is designed to ensure that students who are experiencing difficulty will receive timely and targeted intervention(s). Identifying students who need intervention is done through assessments and daily classroom work.
